Skincare Questions About Beauty And Skincare Treatments

George asks…

Type of doctor that deals with beauty/skincare?

What type of doctor besides a dermatologist deals with laser treatments, and anything cosmetic-related such as machines to remove cellulite, etc.?

Joann answers:

A plastic surgeon. If you are considering any of these treatments, I would only see either a dermatologist or plastic surgeon that is certified and licensed in the particular procedure you are considering. A ton of other doctors offer these treatments, but they aren't necessarily qualified to do them. It's better to pay a little bit more money to someone who is qualified than to save some money and wind up with horrible scarring.

Chris asks…

Stretch marks are evil things ...
Heres a free piece of godsent information
buy a 2.0mm derma roller its like a pen with a little thing that spins round and has surgical needles on the end it tickles abit every day you just roll it on your scars and maybe if you want rub your creams and oils in. I thought i was going to die as i had massive stratchmarks up my sides and then loads of pale deep white ones on my belly .

BASICALLY WORKS BY MAKING YOUR SKIN REHEAL ITSELF OVER AND OVER AGAIN

ive been using for 2 weeks and already have impeccable results its totally amazing, even my skin is tighter, i read its meant to take up to a few months to get rid of them totally but i saw results after the first day!

There about 20 pound on ebay if bought from abroad.

SO PLEASE STOP WASTING YOUR MONEY I KNOW I DID ON STUPID OILS AND EVERYTHING ELSE WHEN YOU CAN JUST BUY ONE OF THESE AND YOUR STRETCHMARKS WILL EVENTUALLY GO AWAY COMPLETELY

please leave your comments if youve used one for other peoples help as they might not believe just me.

Or if you decide to use one comment !!

Love you alllllll please help youselves
DERMAROLLER

dont worry theres no way i get paid for this lol to try get people to buy waste of space and time things since there are a lot of different companies that make them i just want to help you cause i was considering spending like 300 pounds on laser treatmentx

Jenny asks…

Working as a Beauty Therapist?

I haven't taken a full beauty course, but instead short courses in facial massage and skincare, cosmetic make-up, nail treatments (manicure and pedicure), waxing and starting a new course in body massage. I was wondering if this is okay to work in a salon or you need the full beauty certificate? I will qualify in facial massage and skincare in February and didn't know I could work in a salon just doing facial's? Thankyou!Thank you

Joann answers:

Where have/are you learning if it's not in an official college that does either qualifications in City & Guilds GNVQ or NVQ etc many good reputable salons will not employ you and you wont get official beauty therapist insurance

Carol asks…

I really want to write for a major magazine? How do i get myself there?

I know it's a coveted job. I dont have my degree yet but I am really good at writing- it was my best subject in highschool. I'm 25 and have a passion for beauty products and treatments, with a focus on ingredients that work. I read up on all the latest technology in skincare....all my friends go to me for the 'advice' on what to use. It's just something that i take personal pleasure in and i'd love to do it for a living. What do you suggest? and even if i go to school [i'm going to jr. college]....how in the heck do i get to Marie Claire, or Allure?

Any help you can offer would be so appreciated! thank you.

Joann answers:

Get an internship with one and work your way up.
