Skincare Questions About Dermalogica Products Moisturizer

Sandra asks…
Good moisturizer to use with bare minerals??
I use bare minerals, and really like it... I also use dermalogica skin care system, which didnt come with any kinda moisturizer.. I normally have oily skin with dry patches but when i wash in the mornings i end up with very dry and flaky skin, and then its like my face trys to over do itself, and it gets very oily...I have been usin green tea moisturizer from proactive. i like it, but its too expensive to buy alone and im almost out.. is there an over the counter product that will work good?? or maybe even better?? Any i would like to get something with atleast SPF15...
Also does anyone know a good exfoliate you can get at a local drugstore or walmart that will work really well??
THANKS EVERYONE!!!

Joann answers:
Olay regenerists works great as a moisturizer. If you want a really good exfoliate St. Ives Scrub with Elder flower works great just be careful around your eyes.

Mark asks…
Which is the strongest mattifying moisturiser/lotion??
I have an oily t-zone & especially when i apply foundation. So far I've found this http://www.dermalogica.com/product_dir/product_detail.asp?location=AU&Region=A&ProductId=45&Category=moisturizers
or this http://www.esteelauder.com/templates/products/sp_nonshaded.tmpl?CATEGORY_ID=CATEGORY5861&PRODUCT_ID=PROD5745
Are these good?? Are there any other better ones?? I know all about the oil absorbing blotters & cream gels which i think are great but now I just need a oil absorbing moisturiser too! Also, are you supposed to use a primer on top of an oil absorbing moisturiser??

Joann answers:
Umm my mom loves this stuff, i sure hope they still have it, but, Go to Qvc.com and they should have this stuff called Tawaka it works wonderfully, I mean you instantly see results. Also, it spells like chocolate, and it has more antioxidants than two-hundred something pounds of blueberries... Lol sorry for sounding like an info-mercial but You should check it out, I hope I was able to help. ^^"

What is a good at home ingrediants from the kitchen I can use for a facial treatment?
an at home facial mask, facial treatment and body lotions(clenser, toner and moisturiser). Is it true, you don't actually NEED to even use a toner? And how many times a week would you do each of these at home treatments? Are these at home facials just as beneficial? At the moment, I'm currently spending $150 on dermalogica products for my skin and really don't want to have to keep paying that as its ridiculous! Even just buying the small bottles of everything(clenser, toner, facial scrub and moisturiser) it still adds up to $100 for the lot. So if this will help me save more money by using ingrediants from the kitchen etc to do at home treatments and will be as beneficial (or more) I would prefer to do it this way. Would appreciate it if someone could give me the ingrediants for these treatments? Thanks.

Joann answers:
I use witchazel and apple cider vinegar as 'toners'; I really use them to clean up any residue my facial cleansers may have left behind.
A raw potato is cheap and brilliant acne natural cure, especially for whiteheads. The vitamin C makes your skin glow, and alkaline in the potato kills the bacteria on your face. The potato also has an exfoliating effect helping you to get rid of dead skin cells. Papaya fruit produces similar effect; you should also use it raw. (Make sure the potato isn't genetically modified!)

Was on Proactiv for a LONG time...having a hard time getting off it! HELP!?
I was on Proactiv for 7 years (fr. The ages of 17-24) and recently made the bold decision to stop using it, as I heard it ages your skin prematurely. While on Proactiv, I was also using Bare Essentials mineral foundation and veil, along with the B.E. brushes, and a primer from Revlon, as well as Oxy facial cleansing pads to remove my makeup. So for seven years or so I was basically doing everything in my power to dry out my skin to the max. When shopping at Sephora last week the skin specialist advised me to switch to Philosophy purity made simple one-step facial cleanser, as well as a new moisturizer, primer, and foundation. I purchased Clinique’s dramatically different moisturizing lotion, NARS balancing foundation, and NARS primer with SPF 20. I also immediately threw out my Oxy facial cleansing pads and halted all use of B.E. products (including their brushes). After three days of using my newly purchases products, my skin immediately began to DRY OUT like never before, which is so bizarre considering that I made a switch from products that had been massacring my skin for years to products that were supposed to hydrate my skin and alleviate symptoms of dryness. Is this an allergic reaction? Is it normal for your skin to dry out so excessively subsequent to discontinuing Proactiv? What should I be using to at least make the transition more bearable? I’m planning on seeing a dermatologist at the end of the month, but until then I need to find some sort of relief for my tight, dried out skin! I heard Dermalogica is good, as is Cetaphil. If anyone can, HELP!

Joann answers:
It could be an allergic reaction or sometimes when you have used a product for a long time it gets really used to it and so these might just be with drawl symptoms. I would just moisturize my face with stuff that you know you aren't allergic too.

Oh I am using stuff that are tested on humans every day and my score is 6 but I am a male and don't use stuff like mascara and lip stick.
Matter of fact I can reduce that down too by cutting out shampoo and conditioner. Razor blades and soap are the bear minimum of basics as I really don't need the rest. Why is this so well where I am out in the desert there is no water and nothing much else refer to my Aviator Picture and you will see for yourself.
Unfortunately it rarely rains in the Simpson Desert like every 20 years of so. So when it does rains I can wash and shave but the only thing is that the flies just love me when I stink.
I am staring you effort it is great mate from down under in wonderland of OZ.
