http://www.natural-skincare-authority.com/jergens-natural-glow-daily-moisturizer.html
can you actually get cancer? >.<

Joann answers:

I dont like using anything by corporate america makes for my skin...go to french websites or japanese ...never can complain about skin product there ... Corporate is pretty greedy and they will replace ingredient thats bad for your skin just to save a buck.... My friend works for a dermatoligist and he says they put weird ingrediants in shit and we pass it knowing it can be bad... I mean other then that I love our Country but,.....don't trust them with that stuff

Sandra asks…

Jergens Natural Glow causes Cancer!?

http://www.natural-skincare-authority.com/jergens-natural-glow-daily-moisturizer.html

Is that true? I use Jergens Natural Glow all the time and that's scary.

Joann answers:

It's total BS. Relax and slather the stuff on, if you like.

When a research study funded and run by unbiased researchers seeking truth rather than sales of their own competing product comes up with similar findings, then you worry. Until then, remember that these people can't even make a website that displays properly on Firefox, much less back up their claims with clinical studies.

Mark asks…

jergens natural glow and cancer?

i bought the jergens natural glow body lotion and facial cream yesterday. i put both on after i took a shower, and got a little curious and i somehow ended up on this website:

http://www.natural-skincare-authority.com/jergens-natural-glow-daily-moisturizer.html

is this real or fake?! im freaking out right now please help!
also, does anyone know why it smells sort of odd? i woke up this morning and my face, back, and wherever else i put it on smelt like duck shit. my mum also said it smelt disgusting too when i was putting it on a few hours ago, but i couldnt smell anything! =S

Joann answers:

That whole article is BS. For instance, titanium dioxide doesn't cause cancer. It's used in sunblock for super sensitive skin (like for babies), and PROTECTS you from cancer. The internet is full of propaganda. Don't buy into it.

Most sunless tanners have a not-so-great odor. It's just the chemicals in it that reat with your skin to stain it tan. It isn't any more harmful than any lotion you'd buy at Bath and Body Works.

I use that exact same product, and I know what you mean about the smell. It's icky. But it does work really well for it's purpose.

Like someone else on here said, everything "causes cancer" these days. I've heard underwire bras (untrue), antiperspirant (untrue), microwave popcorn (untrue)... The list goes on. If you're really concerned about a product, don't trust a website run by some crazy whack-a-doo, which that one obviously is.

David asks…

Jergens natural glow?

i just read this website& it says this tanning moisturizer causes cancer. heres the link.

http://www.natural-skincare-authority.com/jergens-natural-glow-daily-moisturizer.html

is it true? or is this just some random person writing this, cause i just bought this and put it on for the first time& now that i read this im scared!! please help!
thanks so much =D

Joann answers:

I find it hard to believe that it causes cancer.

Yet, with any product that's new....you really just don't know until there's been a lot of research on it.

But consider Jergens website has a pledge wall dedicated to giving up unhealthy tanning habits with the Skin Cancer Foundation....I'm betting it's really, really safe!

Don't worry.

Thomas asks…

Is it safe to use this moisturizer?

I was looking on google for reviews of this product when I came across this site.

http://www.natural-skincare-authority.co…

So, is it safe to use it or not?

http://www.natural-skincare-authority.com/dove-face-care-skin-moisturizer.html

Sorry, the first link is a typo.

Joann answers:

I'd take that site with a pinch of salt, mate.

Cancer causing agents? Nobody knows what causes cancer, the ffinest scientific minds in the world whose life's work it is to research it haven't worked that one out yet, so I doubt these people know. 'Cancer proven' is a downright lie.

Parabens have been 'linked to breast cancer' only by a very small study of 20 women; you won't find parabens listed as a risk factor on any reputable breast cancer charity or information website.

I suspect these people are promoting their own skincare products.

That said, I prefer my skincare products free of colouring, perfume etc, so I use the Simple range.

Just be wary when you hear or read that any particular thing 'causes cancer' - it will be hearsay and rumour. And bear in mind that 'linked to cancer' or 'studies show' can and often does mean 'a single, small study has suggested a possible link; other studies (sometimes by the same research team) may suggest otherwise'.
